University of Georgia (UGA) students planning to enroll in courses at another HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship eligible institution are required to complete the HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship Transient Request (opens in a new tab) . By submitting the HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship Transient Request, the student authorizes the UGA Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) to certify their eligibility for the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship to the host/transient institution.
HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship eligibility is limited to 15 total hours of payment per semester. Students are asked to self‑report the number of hours they will be enrolled in at UGA for the semester. If a student attempts a different number of hours at UGA than initially reported, the student may be required to make a repayment of the HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship at both the home and host/transient institutions.
Students are responsible for ensuring that host/transient institution charges (including tuition and fees) are paid by the host/transient institution’s deadlines. This may result in students initially paying host/transient institution charges out of pocket and then receiving a reimbursement from the host/transient institution once the HOPE Transient Certification is processed.
The Transient Agreement students must sign explains the deadlines for submitting a host/transient institution transcript to the UGA Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Future HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship awards will be canceled and repayment requested if UGA does not receive the transcript by the required deadline.
UGA students who submitted the HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship Transient Request but did not enroll/attend or receive the HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship at the host/transient institution are required to complete the HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship Certification of Non‑Enrollment (opens in a new tab) . Please note: A transcript is required if the student enrolled/attended the host/transient institution and withdrew from courses (receiving grades of W, WP, WF, etc.).
