VA Educational Benefits

For veterans, national guard and reservists there are number of VA Educational Benefits to include Chapters 1606, 30, 31, and 33 that may be applicable. To learn more, please contact the Veterans Administration’s Educational Benefits Office at 1-888-442-4551 or UGA’s VA School Certifying Official at 706-542-1842.

DoD Tuition Assistance (TA)

For Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard members using TA, the UGA focal point for processing your benefit is the Bursars Office at (706) 542-6773. Military-connected students using TA should ensure they receive approval from a Military Educational Service Officer (ESO) or counselor prior to enrolling.

Federal Aid

Depending on your status you may be eligible for a variety of Federal Student Aid Programs (i.e. Pell Grants, Federal Loans and Federal Work Study) that may complement other benefits and/or awards. To learn more contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at 706-542-6147.

UGA ScholarshipUniverse

Assistantships

High-performing graduate students should consider applying for graduate assistantships (GA), research assistantships (RA) or teaching assistantships (TA). For more information about these highly competitive positions, contact your college, school or department.


NOTE: Eligibility for Federal Aid, UGA-based scholarships, and Emergency Loans is determined through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All military-affiliated students are strongly encouraged to update their FAFSA annually.
