When the UGA Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) electronically receives a student’s FAFSA data from the U.S. Department of Education, the FAFSA data is screened to determine whether the student must provide additional documentation and/or information to the UGA Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA). If additional documentation or information is needed, OSFA will use the student’s UGAMail (opens in a new tab) account to instruct the student to log in to Athena (opens in a new tab) to see what documentation or information they need to provide to OSFA.

How to View Your Application Status on Athena

  1. Go to Athena (opens in a new tab) , select Login to Athena, and sign in with your UGA MyID and password. Complete the steps for multi-factor authentication (opens in a new tab) .
  2. Select Financial Aid.
  3. Select the appropriate Award Year from the drop-down menu at the top right.
  4. Under the Home tab, review your Student Requirements. Any items you must submit will be noted as Requested.
