Academic Scholarships

Each year, UGA awards thousands of academic scholarships to incoming first-year students during the UGA admissions cycle. These awards are typically finalized by early April for all admitted first-year students. An email will be sent out once the awarding process is completed. Students who apply for admission to UGA through Early Action receive priority consideration for academic scholarships. Unless otherwise stated in the chart below, students are automatically evaluated for these scholarships upon admission to UGA.

Academic scholarships awarded by OSFA are offered to applicants who have demonstrated outstanding academic success. OSFA considers students’ cumulative GPAs, standardized test scores, course rigor, and extracurricular engagement in our evaluations for academic scholarships (as reflected in their admissions applications). International applicants must hold F-1 visas to be eligible for these scholarships.

All academic scholarships are renewable for up to eight semesters of full-time (12 hours) enrollment or until the completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs first. To renew the scholarship each year, students must meet the specific academic requirements detailed in the scholarship award letter and the chart below (requirements may vary by scholarship). Please note that once a scholarship is lost due to noncompliance with the minimum GPA requirement, the cancellation is final, and the scholarship will not be reinstated. Academic scholarship recipients are eligible for a one-time, less-than-full-time exception in which they may enroll less than full-time for one semester and still receive their scholarship. To request to use your one-time exception, submit the One-Time Less Than Full-Time Exception Request Form.
