Taking Summer Classes and Need Financial Aid?

If you have not filed a 2023-24 FAFSA, you will need to complete one ASAP to receive federal financial aid for Summer 2024. If you are eligible for the Pell Grant, you likely need to be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours during summer; eligibility for the Pell Grant is screened regularly throughout the summer.

For Federal Direct Student Loan eligibility, please follow these instructions to complete a Summer Change in Aid Request to have your loan eligibility reviewed in advance of summer classes beginning. Keep in mind loan eligibility requires at least half-time enrollment during the term.

You will be automatically screened for eligibility for HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarships. If you are not taking courses at UGA during summer, you will need to complete the HOPE Transient Request Form.
