Males (any person assigned the sex of male at birth) ages 18 through 25 are required to register with the Selective Service System (SSS) in order to be eligible for State of Georgia Financial Aid Programs.

Male students age 18 through 25 who have not yet registered with the SSS can do so on the Selective Service System Web site.

Males age 26 or older are not permitted to register with Selective Service and are considered not eligible for State of Georgia student financial aid. However, a student may still be eligible to receive aid if he can demonstrate to the UGA Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) that he did not knowingly and willfully fail to register, or if he was exempt from registration. Students who did not register and can no longer register should contact OSFA to discuss.
