Federal Work-Study Information
You must have a Federal Work-Study offer on your Award and accept the FWS offer for this information to apply to you.
Welcome to the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program at the University of Georgia! Students in the FWS program utilize the online UGA DawgTRAK job search system to seek and find on-campus positions which suit their needs, preferences, and skills.
FWS is not a grant; no money is issued upfront or applied toward your Student Account. FWS funds cannot be used to defer tuition and fees. Students are paid bi-weekly for hours worked in the FWS position at which you are employed. Students are paid via direct deposit into their banking account (not their Student Account) by the Payroll office. The amount awarded and accepted is the maximum a student can earn.
Accepting an FWS offer on your Award does not guarantee you a job; you must review the job listings, arrange for interviews and be hired.
To begin your search for on-campus FWS employment, go to fws/process.html.
The deadline for securing employment is September 14, 2007. Please keep in mind while you search that many other students will be seeking FWS positions at the same time, so the sooner you narrow your search and begin applying the better your odds in obtaining a suitable FWS position. It is possible that all jobs will be filled if you delay in beginning your application process.
We also ask you to review the basic FWS Information located at FWS to learn about your responsibilities as a UGA and FWS employee. UGA also offers tutoring positions through our America Reads program. For more information, please visit the America Reads Web site (AmericaReads). If you have questions regarding Federal Work-Study, please contact the FWS Counselor in the Office of Student Financial Aid by calling (706) 542-6147, press 1 after the message begins, or via e-mail at ugafws@uga.edu.
