Academic Dismissal And Financial Aid Eligibility

Student financial aid applicants and recipients must demonstrate they are making measurable progress toward earning a degree by adhering to the University's federal student aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy.  Students who fail to maintain SAP are no longer eligible for federal or State of Georgia financial aid.  Students Academically Dismissed from the University who also have transfer credit from another post-secondary institution may or may not be meeting the University's federal aid SAP criteria.

As stated in the University's federal aid SAP policy, the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) reviews students at the end of every semester and affected financial aid recipients are notified of their failure to maintain SAP.  Students academically dismissed from UGA should contact OSFA to confirm their federal and state financial aid eligibility status.
